This study guide is  intended for those who desire to see more of Holy Spirit at work in their lives but have blocks, inhibitions, and questions about His ministry in our lives.

 

We all face a wide range of blocks and barriers which tend to impede our spiritual progress. Some inhibitors are large theological ones, while others are small pockets of personal resistance. Both of these reservations are often based upon our reaction to what we have heard, rather than a revelation from God’s word. In this study guide, I want to identify these blocks and barriers and counter them with a practical Biblical perspective that can help us yield more fully to the powerful Holy Spirit who wants to build highways of wholeness in the earth today.

 

To be certain, I am not always satisfied with my own level of openness to the Holy Spirit and long for more of His power to be at work in my life. In order to help keep my priorities straight, there are times when I have to ask myself the following questions:

- Will I settle for a watered-down version of the Holy Spirit, or do I expect Him to be the source of power that we see throughout the Bible?

 

- Do I rewrite the definition of power because I am not able to obtain it, or do I push beyond my comfort level and my limited understanding in order to experience more of what those in the Bible experienced?

 

- Will I feign being spirit-filled when He is not flowing in an obvious way?

 

- Has God been holding back the Holy Spirit's power or have I been holding back from Him?

 

Let's explore these questions, and more, as we study this important subject.

 

It is time to lay a fresh Biblical foundation under our faith so we can step out and experience more of what God wants for us. We need more of God’s power to undo and outdo the works of darkness, which is hurting those around us.
